1970 Boss 302 Restoration

This Boss 302 was in very good condition when we received it. It, however, needed to be painted and all of the undercarriage parts needed to be refinished. This Boss 302 restoration was more heavy on parts than anything else. It is missing several Boss 302 specific parts under the hood. The chrome all need to be redone or replaced. Below are a few shots of the exterior in it's arrival condition.

The following photos show the interior. This Boss was not born with a deluxe interior so we are going to replace the wood grain dash and the door panels with what it originally had. We have ordered the standard black door panels and the black instrument cluster housing. these upgrades although nice are incorrect for this car. We are on the hunt for standard gauges that include a tach which this car did have originally. The seats are in decent shape and appear to be original.

These are the shots that make this Boss a tremendous find. It retains it's original engine and transmission as noted by the vin number stamped in both. We were very lucky to find an original grabber blue, shaker, numbers matching Boss 302. This car also came with a rear spoiler, slats, mag 500's, and a shaker. so this Boss was pretty loaded from the factory.

As you can see from the following photos the body work has begun. The previous restoration was decent but they made some major mistakes when it came to the hood and fender extensions. They could never get the fenderextension to line up properly because they used the wrong hardware to attach them. This caused a mis-alignment with the fender and the hood. By using the proper hardware we were able to correct this and remove 95% percent of the filler used to create a somewhat proper line. These are the common things that we find when restoring these Mustangs. Guys use whatever nuts and bolts they have and when the job calls for special hardware you can't ever get it right.
