After removing the engine from this Boss 302 we moved on to the extior. We removed the mirros, stripe, quarter panel extensions, hood, and other loose items.
Next on the agenda for this Boss 302 restoration was the interior. We gitted the inside of this Boss 302 to find that this car was in excellent condition. The floor pans were perfect. We always want to figure out what welding if any will be needed on any restoration that we do. Welding is something that you want to do first so that the car will line up properly and it also creates the biggest mess. We found that no welding would be needed on this Boss 302 restoration so we pushed forward.
Here are some shots of the underside of this Boss 302. Although dirty it is excellent condition. You may not be able to see in these pictures but the transmission tunnel still retained it's original batch primer. Restoring Boss 302's in this condition is certainly easier than having to cut and paste new metal.
Here are a few shots of this Boss 302 in primer. We go through serveral step of blocking and wet sanding to make sure we will get the best finish possible. We use this procedure on all of our cars not just Boss 302 restorations.
